Exit31

"Close-harmony rock" is Main Street. From there, Exit 31 wanders into different alleyways and back: punk, ska, metal, pop, ROCK. Simple, yet sophisticated. Melodic but harsh. Tight drums & bass, heavy guitars and steady keys are laying the foundation for some high-energy vocal sparring!

Originally starting as friends from their highschool days, Ivo and Florian bonded with their passion for music. Of course they were having their rock ´n roll dreams like any other young kid; living the rock star life. But it was their love of music that fueled their ambitions.

A chance meeting at a local tennis court with Garry ended up cranking Green Day tunes together. The only thing missing in our brand new group was a bass player. But luck was on its way during the hot summer of 1995. Not only was the weather good enough to play tunes next to the pool, that pool delivered them a bass player named Bjorn as well as the name Doofus. They saw that on a t-shirt some gorgeous girl was wearing at the pool.
Doofus... catchy and simple.

1996 consisted of playing over 50 gigs at every nook and cranny. And when Bjorn decided to leave the band, Ivo picked up the bass he stole from his father and Doofus went on the road as a trio. Some naysayers were convinced that our boys were too young, but a solid live reputation proved them wrong. This resulted in playing well attended shows and winning several talent awards. Winning the Emergenza award even got them to play on a festival in Germany. Their first show abroad in Hamburg also got them their first record deal.
They worked on their first album with producer Erwin Musper (Van Halen, Scorpions, Anouk, David Bowie). A full album was recorded and a single was released. This single release party held in Paradiso, Amsterdam was the first ever live internetcast done in the Benelux.

Due to bad management again, the album never saw the light of day.

To start over with a clean slate, the band fired the management and got themselves a new name. During 2004/2005 a home recording studio was built located just off EXIT 31 and a fourth member was added. It was Garry´s brother David who teamed up with our friends. And these soon-to-be fab four called themselves EXIT 31.

2005 saw them playing several shows supporting Within Temptation and Di-rect. And then Erwin Musper gave them a call. Erwin had started a new record company in the USA and he offered Exit 31 a record deal on his YEAYEAYEAH record label.

After the release of their debut album "Phonogenic" in 2006, Exit 31 started promoting the album by playing shows in Holland, Germany and Belgium. To top it off, they went to the United States in September to tour in Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana. A live performance on national television network FOX gave them even more publicity.

After Florian, one of our founding members, decided to go his own way in early 2007, his place at the drums was filled by new found musical brother Bart. And after just a couple of months of rehearsing, they headed for the USA again for some more touring. They also finished recording their second album which was released on May 23, 2008...

That brings us to the present....The album is done and now OUT!!!Exit31 are touring promoting their brand new album.....EXIT 31!!
